Saturday Snow Day

I have been so excited today with the chance of snow in our forecast. I have said it before, but I am a kid when it comes to snow. I have been peeking out the window all day, and finally around two-ish...I got my wish! We bundled Jackson up and headed to the park right around the corner from our house. He had so much fun. We played for about 30 minutes and headed home (he was making me cold looking at him). When we got home, we had to play some more in our backyard (he played hard for another hour and then we had to drag him in...He wasn't a happy camper!). Happy Valentines Day?

This weekend, Jason got round 2 of the stomach virus, so Jackson and I got the heck-out-of-Dodge (on Valentine's day no less). My cousins from Texas were staying with my parents , so went to see them. Jackson has found a new best friend in Cody. They had so much fun playing together. Cody, when are you avaliable to babysit? =)

Funny story...On Sunday, Cody called us at 8:30 in the morning to let me know that he needed to see Jackson before he left. We quickly got ready and made the 45 minute drive to my parents house. While we were in transit, Cody started counting his money (this kid is a saver!!!) and pulled out $3 to give to Jackson. He said that Jackson needed to start saving (so sweet!).

We sure did have fun seeing ya'll Jay and Cody. We hope to see you all again real soon!!!

February 15th Verse

I have officially started my scripture memory. I love this verse and thought I would start with it.

"The Lord your God is with you. He is mighty to save. He will take great delight in you. He will quiet you with his love. He will rejoice over you with singing." Zephaniah 3:17

Doesn't this go great with Valentine's Day?

2009

I started the year off with 2 big goals: 1. lose weight (isn't that everyone's resolution?), and 2. get stronger in my walk with the Lord (Proverbs 31...thats the picture of the woman that I want to be. Those are some BIG shoes to fill)


How am I doing?
#1. Well almost 2 months in, I can honestly say that I am no more lighter than I was in 2008. I'm still working on motivation (hey, whatever makes me feel better, right?).



And #2. I'm doing ok but I feel like I have gotten myself into a "spiritual rut". (if that makes any sense) I do the same things day-to-day (quiet time/prayer) and I want to add something new to the mix. I was reading Beth Moore's blog the other day (I LOVE Beth Moore). She gave her "siestas" a goal to memorize a new scripture on the 1st and the 15th of every month. Well, I'm going to do it. I used to memorize scripture all the time in elementary and high school for some reason I have stopped doing this. I will be posting the verses that I am learning on here. Anyone want to join too?

My first REAL conversation

So, the last night after dinner, Jason and I were watching tv while Jackson played before bedtime. He came up to me and said:

Jackson: "Up?" so I pulled him up to sit on my lap

Jackson: points over to my drink and says "sipth" which to him mean sip

Mommy: "Jackson what do you want a sip of?"

Jackson: "coke." (I am so ashamed that he already knows what coke is. Not because I let him drink coke, but because I am ADDICTED to coke!) So I grab the glass and let him have a sip.

Mommy: "Jackson was that yummy coke?"

Jackson: "Mmm Hmmm...yummy"

And thus with that, he climbed off my lap and my first conversation with my little boy was over! Jason and I just sat there for a few seconds amazed...a REAL conversation!!! It was small but a conversation none the less.
