"Almost" Wordless Wednesday

I forgot to post his "first" day of school pictures. And for those of you who are familiar with our discipline issues in the past, I am happy to say that Jackson is doing really well. I still don't completely trust him yet, but he is doing MUCH better.

Infomercials

In the Haynes household, we LOVE infomercials! My first encounter with infomercial mania was the "personal versatile counter-top magician" known as the Magic Bullet.When Jason and I first got married, I made him watch about the Magic Bullet everytime it came on TV. I was OBSESSED. "Look at that Jason, it chops garlic." "Oh man, look how fast it dealt with those onions!" On our first Christmas together, he got me one! I was so excited...I started planning all the things I would use it for. I mean, the choices were endless (Have you seen the infomercial? It does it all!) Well, it does not work the way they say it does. The only thing I used it for was to mix up Jackson's formula because it was so thick.

I hate to say that the infomercial bug has bitten again....but not me this time. It got Jason. This weekend when we were painting, he kept getting frustrated and saying if I only had a...
Last night when Jason was on his way home, he sounded very excited and was asking if we were going to paint. When he got home, I noticed he had a Bed Bath and Beyond bag but didn't think much about it. We were chatting and I noticed he was putting something together....He went and bought one!!! Really? I decided I would let him paint alone and fully enjoy his new gadget. This morning, I was asking him how much he liked it. He didn't respond much, just said "It's ok I guess." Well, I knew by that response there was something that wasn't quite as perfect as the ad says. I went to checkout his handy work and noticed drips all down the wall. The moral of the story- don't buy things from infomercials. If you want to paint...just do it the hard way!

"Weekend" Project

We decided that this weekend, we were going to move Jackson into our guest room and give him a brand new "big boy" room. We wanted to give him enough time to get used to his new room before Hudson gets here. I don't want him to think that his little brother came and kicked him out of his room and took all his stuff. (We are going to keep the nursery the same....Hey, anything to save some money!)

Jackson is obsessed with trains, trucks, tractors, bulldozers and "Popsicles" (Popsicles = bicycles/motorcycles) so that is the theme we are going to go with. I thought that it wouldn't take long to go through all our stuff that was in the guest room and organize it, paint and decorate. Boy, was I wrong! It took ALL weekend and all we have to show for it is 2 huge trips to Goodwill and one coat of paint on the walls. So, we are hoping to finish our "weekend project" next weekend...making it a week project. Yikes!!! That is all I can say about this picture! We painted at night while Jackson was sleeping. This is when we started painting at 9:30. By 11:30, my sweet hubby sent me to bed but he kept painting until about 1:00 that morning. Whew, that makes me tired just thinking about it.

Yes everyone, that is the color we are using...Donald Duck Orange! Everytime Jackson walks in there he says "Whoa, so orange." I hope that is a good thing. Stay tuned, I will post more pictures when the room is finished and let ya'll know how his first night in there went.

How's It Going?

So many of you have asked how the shots are going. Well....not too bad. I still am having a mild panic attack every night before I take them, but it is not near as bad as it used to be. =) I just have to put my big girl panties on and suck it up. It's not for me after all, it's all for my sweet Hudson. (I'm sure my mom will be thrilled that I used the phrase "big girl panties" on my blog, Sorry mom!)

Speaking of "For Hudson", isn't that jar full of shots so cute! (That is if a jar of shots could be cute.) This is what will stare at me for the next 5 months reminding me why I am doing this. My new "blog friend" Allyson gave me this idea. She is going through the same thing that I am. (Hope you don't mind that I stole your idea)

Other than that, everything has been going really well with this pregnancy. My platelets have looked great for the last 3 weeks, so no more going in every week to check that! I am just SO ready to meet this little boy. Hurry up November!

He Has A Name!

This list has been hanging over our head for at least 3 weeks. Not sure if you can tell, but we had slowly been weeding out the names that we knew were no's. We had been struggling with a name for this baby our entire pregnancy. Well, the day has come where we have a firm name! This baby will be named Hudson Bennett Haynes! Hudson has been one of my favorite names for a bit (and of course it ends in "on") and Bennett is my Grandfather's (my Dad's Dad) middle name.

Thank you, Thank you, Thank you for all who voted for it. I think I just needed a little reassurance that other people liked it and Hudson was by far the favorite name on the poll. We must all have GREAT taste. =)

(Now, lets just pray that the ultrasound was right!!! I don't really have any girl's names)

Help a Momma Out!

I need help blog friends. We are T-3 months and counting until we meet our newest addition to the family and I am ashamed to say, we still don't have a name for our little bambino (Ok, So we did and then we decided we weren't so sure about it. I mean, we have a list of about 30 names that we are still going through trying to decide.)! I have put a handy little poll on the sidebar with a few of our faves. Please vote...who knows we may pick yours!

Show Me Your Life- Receptions and Honeymoon

(Warning...Picture OVERLOAD!!!! I haven't looked at our honeymoon pictures in such a long time. I was reminiscing and I think I may have gotten a little carried away.) =)

We had our wedding reception at the church that we got married at. We ended up having a pretty small wedding since it fell on Mother's Day weekend and also many college and high school students graduated that day (that was fine with us).

*Cutting our cake. Each layer of my cake was a different flavor: strawberry filling, lemon-lime cake with lemon filling, almond cake with raspberry filling. It was so yummy. Jason decided not to have a cake and to have pecan pie instead.
*The food was delicious. My mom, grandmother and friend made it all. They packed a little picnic basket for us to take with us. I'm telling ya, I have never scarffed food down like I did that night. I was starving! *making our getaway!
*If you look close you can see that they put OREOS on our car. We had to go to the car wash that night to get them off. It took 2 years to get them all off!

For our honeymoon, we went on a cruise to Montego Bay, Jamaica, Grand Cayman, and Cozumel. Our trip could best be described as a comedy of errors! We drove our wedding night to Little Rock. It was the only airport that we could find with a non-stop flight to Houston. (It was the first time that either one of us had flown...we wanted to make it as easy as possible). We woke up the next morning EARLY to catch our flight at 7:00. We put the "bride" and "groom" shirts that I had made and got to the airport. Got through security no problem. Waiting on the plane, 1 hour passes and then 2...the flight attendant FORGOT HER BADGE! Finally, she gets on the plane and allows us to board. Get to my seat to FIND SOMEONE SITTING THERE!!!! Really? I'm wearing my bride shirt...I'm a bride! Jason sits next to the guy and leaves me in the aisle. The late flight attendant comes to look at our boarding passes and she says "He is in the right seat. I'm sorry ma'am" What? again, did you read the shirt...it says BRIDE!!! I then ask him "You are going to Houston, right?" Turns out, he was going to NEW YORK and got on the wrong plane. Hows that for security? We take off and then the pilot announces that there are some honeymooners on board. Everyone applauds and I think they are feeling pretty sorry for me by now.

Land in Houston, go to get our luggage....and my brand new bag is RIPPED OPEN (It got stuck in the conveyor belt and it pulled the whole side off my bag)!!! A man from the airport is standing there with it. He tells me that he will go and get me a bag similar to it and that I can stand there and transfer my clothes into the new bag. I was so embarrassed...I was standing in the middle of the airport trying to put my unmentionables into the new bag in front of my new husband and 100s of other people. I was mortified. We finally make it to the bus that will take us to Galveston. Get to the ship and see the 9,749 people waiting to check in and get in the back of the line. A lady see our shirts and tells us to go to International check-in where there was 1 person checking in, it was our "wedding present" from her. We checked in in 5 minutes and go onboard. (Note to self-if I ever go on a cruise again, wear Bride and Groom shirts)

*So excited*Been there a whole 5 minutes and already trying out the food.*Trying on our lifejackets*First day at sea...Pool time!*Formal night-Captain's Dinner. We sure can clean up well! =)*The top 2 pictures are from Jamaica. We climbed Dunn's River Falls and then went and ate authentic jerk chicken and island rice! One of the best meals I have ever eaten!

We were unable to dock in Grand Cayman because the waves were too big for the boat to ferry us to the island. They reimbursed us for the excursion that we paid for and then gave each of us an extra $50 bucks. We went to the casinos and played the slots and won an additional $40 and then went around the deck exploring.

*Cozumel, Mexico!

*What is the first thing that you do when you dock in Cozumel? Find a Burger King of course. We did our best at ordering "dos numero unos con queso". That was supposed to be 2 number 1s with cheese. They understood our terrible Spanish.*Yummy authentic Mexican food! Delish!!

*Last night there and the final formal night. Loving on our towel animals.

Sorry for so many pictures. I just had so much fun looking through all of them and thinking about that trip.
