T-Ball Fun

We have a BUSY weekend planned. I just wanted to post 2 fun videos from Jackson's t-ball game last night.
Jackson showing the ball whose boss!
This may be my favorite video of all time!He was headed home and was following the lines just like he was told to do. HILARIOUS!!!! Have I said yet how much I love watching pre-school kids playing sports. I seriously do!

I Have A Graduate?

Well, it is official. Jackson is headed to Kindergarten! (Quick, someone get me a tissue!) Tuesday, his school had a little graduation for the Pre-K and Kindergarten. Each class had their time to shine. They sang their favorite Bible song, recited their class verse, did a skit where they told what they learned that year and sang a cute "I'm going to Kindergarten" song.
Singing and signing "Jesus Loves me"
Jackson's class did a wonderful job. They sang "Jesus Loves Me" with sign language. Their Bible verse was "Honor your Father and your Mother." Exodus 20:12. I was beaming with pride hearing my sweet little boy and his class do any awesome job presenting what they learned this year.
A little video of the last song they sang. "I am a Graduate".
Jackson received the "Best Classroom Helper" award. That award fits him so well, he loves to be a helper.
Showing off his diploma
Can you tell how excited he is?
Jackson,
How are you headed to Kindergarten? Daddy and I are so excited (and a little sad) at what's to come. Kindergarten!...I still can't believe it. We are amazed at the things that you have already learned and can't wait to see what next year will bring. You are caring, sweet, hard-headed, stubborn, hilarious, talkative, all-boy, and since being in school, we are noticing how much more independent and confident you are becoming. You love your family, friends, school, church and are growing a love for God that thrills me like nothing else.
Jackson, God has big plans for you. I can't wait to see them unfold! I am so very proud of you and so thankful that God chose me to be your Mommy!
I love you more than you will ever know!

Hodge Podge Monday

Today, I have a few random/funny things that I want to remember to tell you.
We are in the process of some BIG changes at the Hayne's house. The roof is complete and they are currently working on new siding, and new posts for the carport. I can't wait to show you the after pictures.
Hudson has become quite the fashionista lately. The boy really knows how to pull an outfit together. Here he has accessorized his ensemble with the season's hot new looks: tiger sunglasses, necklace made at church, and Rudolph the Red-nose Reindeer book with a cord attached (that he uses as a purse).
The boys have LOVED playing with each other recently. Yes they still drive each other nuts 50% of the time, but that other 50% is spent playing with each other. They are seriously BFFs.
Jackson and Hudson enjoy playing order. Five times a night, one kid will come up to me or Jason and say "Can I take your order?" and then go "prepare" what you ordered. Last night, while playing order, I noticed Jackson was sounding out what I ordered. Can you guess what I got? I ordered a taco (toko), a pickle (pekl) and a coke (which he cheated and copied what was on my can). This is the first time he has tried to spell something on his own that he didn't already know how to spell. I was SO proud of him!

Jackson-ism of the day:
Yesterday while we were heading home from church, Jackson was asking several question about God. My favorite question was:
Jackson: "Mommy, how did God make us. Did he use the force?"
Mommy: "No Jax. God doesn't need the force. He is much bigger than the force."
We are raising a little Star Wars fan!

Batter Up!

I love baseball. I have loved going to baseball games since I was in high school. (Not a fan of watching it on TV, but there is nothing like going to a live baseball game.) Jackson had his first baseball game Saturday.
He was so excited. Here he is showing me his "stance".
Hudson was ready to cheer on his Bubba. Gotta love his "Just like my big bro" shirt. He loves everything about his big brother.
Jackson was the first one to bat. He had no hesitation in walking right up to the plate...
 ...swinging...
 ...and getting a hit!
He was safe at first. He got a little help from the first base coach (which also happened to be his Daddy.) I love this picture. I told Jason "Instant Facebook profile picture"!
He ran home and scored. (Yes, everyone scores in T-ball...but he really scored.)
Ready for a little outfield action. Playing the "pitcher".
Our team is all about some full-contact tee-ball. They will fight and tackle their own teammates to get the ball.
 Throwing it to first.
The first game is in the books and was a success!
Like any good Memphian, you have to go to Jerry's to cool off. I think everyone in Memphis was there too.  The line was crazy, but you do what you have to do to get a snocone!
 Waiting patiently
Yes, Hudson has no clothes on. We have learned from our rookie mistakes. I am good at stain removal, but sno cone syrup is VERY hard to get out.
That is the face of a happy customer. He loved his John Deere sno cone!
I am so proud of my litle baseball player. I can't wait for more (hot) games this summer.

My Day!

We had a pretty jam-packed weekend. Early Saturday morning, started with a run in some drizzle (I felt pretty hard-core running in the rain...who cares that it was only 2 miles. Ha!) Later that afternoon, Jason cut the grass and then "ran some errands", so I took the boys to see the Big Foot monster truck.
Jackson was happy as a lark.
Hudson was a little intimidated by the size of the truck (and I totally don't blame him.). We ate lunch and met the driver and we came home and the boys took naps. That night we went to my parent's house to celebrate my Mom and my Grandmother. We went and ate Mexican and I brought Muddy's cupcakes for dessert. (We were so busy, I didn't take any pictures the rest of the weekend). I know, I know, what kind of blogger am I?
Sunday was not only Mother's Day but also our 6th anniversary. I was showered with presents as soon as the boys woke up. Hand-print plate from Hudson, painted picture frame from Jackson, and Jason got me a camera that can stay in my purse. I love my DSLR but he has heard me complain so many times about how hard it is to lug around and how I wish I had a small one too blah blah blah. How good is he? They went and got my breakfast of choice, McDonald's (Don't even comment on how terrible it is. I was craving a sausage, egg, and cheese biscuit and dead gum it was good!) and we got ready to go to Jason's parent's house. We ate lunch with them (again no pictures!) and spent the day with them. When we got home we ordered dinner because my kitchen is closed on Mother's Day. =) I gained a few pounds with all the poor choice of foods I ate. I will hit it hard again today.
Overall, We had an awesome weekend. I realized how blessed I am to have so many amazing Mommies in my life and to be married to my best friend for the past 6 years. Life is good!

Ooops, I Did It Again

Well, I've gone and done it again. I have sign up for the St. Jude Half-marathon. (What am I thinking?) To say I am scared would be putting it lightly. I have not run since December when I finished the last half. Yikes, 5 months ago! This week I have jumped into training. I am determined (and sore...shin splints are no joke!). Last year, I ran willy nilly during the week with a long run on Saturday. This year I have a training plan already printed out on my refrigerator. I will be running 3 times a week. I will be doing P90X or 30 Day Shred 2 days. I will rest 2 days. And I will be eating better. I am determined to take better care of my body (and hopefully shed quite a few unwanted pounds!).

Also, this year I signed up to be a hero (or a fundraiser) for St. Jude. My fundraising website can be found here. Feel free to donate any extra $ you have laying around. =) I will be doing a giveaway for anyone who donates. For every $5.00 you give, you will get one entry. I am working on getting some things gathered for that giveaway. Stay tuned for that.

Weekend Wrap-up

I guess I am becoming a "once a week" blogger. We had an AWESOME weekend packed with a date night and no naps for the boys. The awesome-ness started Friday when I picked up the boys from school. They have been so good lately so we decided to scratch our Friday afternoon Sonic happy hour and hit up a Yogurt Mountain. The squeals when we got in the car and they realized where we were going were priceless.
Those are they faces of some very happy boys!
 Gotta get every last drop
Saturday morning we went to the Germantown Touch-A-Truck. Someone got some sticky fingers and tried to steal my sunglasses.
A sweet policeman gave them badges. They were deputies for the day.
 Gotta love a good bulldozer.
The best part of their morning...sitting inside the bulldozer. We went home, got their bags packed, and they spent the night with my parents.
Jason and I had us a little date night. We went to a Cinco De Mayo party at church and ate Swanky's tacos and then went to a late movie. Going to a late movie requires a large Starbucks drink (since my bedtime is 9:00) hidden in my purse. Since we got in at 1:00 am, we slept in.
Sunday afternoon, we picked the boys up at the zoo. We had a picnic with my parents. (Can I go ahead and say that Geez Louise it was HOT!!! And I hate to sweat.)
After our picnic, it was animal time. My Mom made the cutest scavenger hunts for the boys. They had to find animals like "Japanzees" (chimps) and "Rhinoooserouses" (Rhinos)
Jackson took the scavenger hunt VERY SERIOUSLY!
And Hudson, not so much! He had all his animals marked out in about 3 minutes.
It was an awesome weekend. We were exhausted and sweaty and that's the way it should be right? Since today is my day off, we have done NOTHING! We took naps and were lazy all day. That's the best way to follow up a busy weekend.
